Emergency Procedures for Unknown Substances

If an unknown substance (powder or soil) is reported or found by any Market Staff and after examination you cannot determine what the substance is, you are to carry out the following actions below and inform Security;

Seal off area immediately and contact your immediate Manager,

Contact Auburn Police, Ph. No. 9646 8699 and report what you found,

Isolate any person who came into contact with the substance,

Keep all Tenants, shoppers and unnecessary staff out of affected area.

Note;

Add barricades and taping where necessary,

Senior ranking Police Officer onsite will call Fire Brigade (HAZMAT).

If a substance (powder or soil) is delivered by mail you are to also carry out the actions below;

Seal off area immediately and contact your immediate Manager,

Contact Auburn Police, Ph. No. 9646 8699 and report what you found,

Isolate any person who came into contact with the substance,

Keep all unnecessary people away from the affected area.

Note;

Senior ranking Police Officer onsite will call Fire Brigade (HAZMAT).
